>EU and UK citizens have been caught in increased border formalities since frictionless travel disappeared with the implementation of the Brexit deal at the end of 2020, four years after the referendum.
Yes those ‘*Brexit Bonuses*’ keep on paying dividends.
However nice to see that “*Irish citizens will be exempt*”, the same as they won’t have to bother with the similar ETIAS scheme the EU is introducing.

I guess it makes sense if EU are charging us for visas.

Probably worth mentioning, because I looked it up out of personal interest, people on the EU Settlement Scheme or with other settled status don’t need to pay it.

That will be a big crap show and a loss of money in the economy…

All these schemes just feel like unnecessary extra admin for everyone involved

It’s fine, many countries charge a nominal visa/permit fee

I think this is fine. The US has had the ESTA fee for years now. The EU will introduce something similar, so it’s all just swings and roundabouts.

Just to be clear, ETA is not visa. ETA is being implemented across the world not just the UK. The EU, the US, Canada, NZ, Australia, South Korea and soon Japan will require these types of entry permits for people who could normally enter the borders visa-free.

Will this affect EU nationals with indefinite leave to remain? 🤔
How will we be able to prove to them 😹

Indeed migration problems to UK are coming from US and EU countries /s. And for sure these 10 pounds will stop illegal imigration in UK…

What a nothing burger in relation into how media makes it, the US does the same, EU is doing the same. Its becoming common for countries to do a similar scheme

I don’t understand why paying 10 pounds will “enhance security”.
