The media are going crazy over the fact he was supposedly a “Hollywood actor”, but I think the most relevant part of this story is here:
> Hoganson has since racked up 109 previous convictions.
> **Last month, Hoganson was jailed for 18 months** after he admitted assault by beating and breach of a restraining order. Newcastle Crown Court heard the 53-year-old was caught on doorbell video camera when he **attacked his former partner** in Newcastle on December 11 last year. Hoganson **already had a restraining order** to keep him away from the woman when he attacked her

An 18 month sentence has become less than a month, not even hitting the 40% that’s meant to be served, and the man is a violent domestic abuser. This is despite ministers saying literally yesterday that they [won’t be releasing domestic abusers](https://news.sky.com/story/action-being-taken-to-ensure-domestic-abuse-prisoners-not-among-those-released-early-tomorrow-minister-says-13211806).
Letting out violent criminals with countless previous convictions to make way for first time offenders who posted something racist on Facebook.
Can we not tag people and make it so they can’t actually leave their house/flat?
Or do we not have anything sensitive enough to detect that?
He made one film that looks like a B-movie, produced and set in Britain. Maybe they mean Hollywood, Birmingham.
