They operated on the premise of using dead tree material harvested from the region and turned into pellet form. It was revealed they’d just been flattening and processing hectares of rainforest.
Obviously they got off with no charges.

Biofuels are one of the greatest environmental perils of our age. Bizarre that clearing and replacing rainforests with palm oil plantations, and burning North American forests is somehow considered “green” and “renewable”. It’s an absolute tragedy.

Funny how the regulator only decided to start an investigation last year when BBC Panorama literally exposed Drax for doing this very fucking thing two years ago. It’s almost like the regulator goes blind when big wads of cash are waved in its face.
