  1. >“As I have previously stated, I believe it is time to end needless arrests and incarcerations of adults for small amounts of marijuana for personal use,” **the former president wrote.** “We must also implement smart regulations, while providing access for adults, to safe, tested product.”

I find it **hilarious** that these people took his phone from him and are now trying to make him seem “presidential”.
Theyre not fooling anyone, not even his knuckle dragging supporters. Missed the bus by a few years on that one.

Kamala is correct. Trump is pandering to a specific demographic with that post.

Trump is a non-stop font of pandering as evidenced by his comments directed to both pro-choice folks and anti-choice folks.

  3. Trump already had a chance to do something about marijuana during his Presidency and all he could do is say, “I think medicinal marijuana is good”. When it came to recreational use when asked by O’Reilly & Hannity, he was against it.

  4. Trump reminds me of this crackhead that hung out behind the neighborhood liquor store down the street from where I grew up.

He would always come out when he saw my friends and I pull up in our bikes, pretending to be excited to see us, then immediately ask us for a dollar.

Trump had the opportunity to do something about cannabis and instead he appointed Jeff Sessions. The poster child for reefer madness. Sounds legit! It was the Biden/Harris administration that directed the DEA to reschedule. After decades of fighting, they finally relented. Long overdue and repukes get ZERO CREDIT.

  6. I believe trumpet was talking about death sentences for drug offences.  That must be one of his common sense rule changes. Why does the media never hold him accountable for the shit that comes out of his mouth?

  7. I hope Kamala does push for legalizing it. I can drive to bar and get drunk after work but if I want to go home and eat an edible or smoke a bowl and play a game or watch Futurama high I’m a criminal? Fuck off.

  8. Anything benevolent Trump was going to do he would have done his first term. Round two is going to be nothing but insanity.

It’s gaslighting, not pandering. They will tell them they want to legalize it and then in the future will say they never said such a thing.

  10. Can Kamala push for legalization that would be a great move. Not sure why they are letting Trump be the pro-weed candidate when Walz has the receipts.

  11. It might be pandering but I like it.

Similar to how I liked Kamala adopting Trumps no tax on tips proposal.

It’s ok for a politician to change their minds just like it’s ok to compromise. That’s how adults operate in the real world.

When trump was in the white house he vowed to never legalize weed, he tried making penalties more severe under federal law, and rolled back changes sentencing minor pot dealers.  When biden came in he undo all of that.

He did legalize hemp but that was a part of a farm deal that passed congress.  I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean to do that.

  13. Nearly every Trump policy can be described as “Trump had previously indicated he might…”.

    Fickle flighty bastard.

  14. Legalization won’t play well with the religious right, or the Republicans who profit off of private prisons who they need to keep filled to capacity to keep building more of them.

I’ve lived in two States with legalization of recreational use and there’s been no noticeable effect on crime or value systems. It’s not just my observation. The statistics confirm that the worst fears of the anti-legalization people just never happened.

If they were smart they would have jumped on it before the democrats and figured out how to completely control it financially. These days they have no real values anyway so why should republicans still be clinging to “weed is bad”.

  16. Yeah, he put dobby the elf in as AG and that little fucker immediately started cracking down on legal pot shops across blue states, with surprise federal DEA busts kicking down doors, arresting people and wreaking havoc, and of course, clearing out ALL of the cash on the premise, since they’re STILL not allowed to use normal banking.

You realize he’s got ads all over TikTok right now saying the Dems are taking ‘your’ Tiktok away and only Trump will stop it, even though it was a bipartisan effort to put the forced sale in place? The more desperate he gets, the more insane his promises will become, of both the pandering and threatening violence variety.

  17. r/weedstocks is being blasted every single day with posts about Trump legalizing weed. It’s absolute horseshit Astro turfing.

  18. That’s odd he’s going to vote that way, considering his buddy, Kenny G of Citadel has spent something like $5 mil against legal weed.

  19. I hope all of you conservative Republicans see that Trump has flipped on this issue and abandon him as the fraud that he is. If you really support right-wing values then you can’t vote for Donald Trump. Don’t vote at all if you can’t stand, but don’t sell out your morals and vote for Trump.

  20. Blatant pandering is all Trump has ever done. He thinks The Presidency is a reality show and he’s playing for ratings! That’s how over 5 million extra people died of COVID-19. (Vaccinations just weren’t popular, so how could they be necessary?)

  21. I wish she would come out in support for full legalization. Vast majority of Americans support it

  22. He’s always playing both sides of an issue (abortion, gun safety, etc.) in the hope of getting more votes.

We need to quit letting him get away with
    It.

  23. Remember when trump said he’d have a better alternative to the ACA? And it would be in two weeks?

If Trump actually thought this he could have began the process of rescheduling cannabis while he was president, LIKE BIDEN DID.
