  1. Correct me if I’m wrong, is this not the Labour government that vowed to “do things differently” and “restore faith in politics” or some such bullshit?

Seems like more of the fucking same to me.

  2. The government deciding not to publish a relevant report until after a vote is unacceptable.

I hope MPs raise some hell over being denied information to make an informed decision.

  3. The previous few Tory governments can best be described as a hostage situation.

It’s pretty clear that Keir Starmer and the labour party has a severe case of Stockholm syndrome.

Nigel, Farage is just counting down the days until the next general election.

This might seem controversial but i’d rather have the lib dems as government because unlike Labour, the Lib dem’s manifesto in which my opinion was an absolute masterclass explained each policy and how they would be funded like for an example legalising cannabis which was a no brainer for me, that on top of the policies actually being realistic and generally mention areas that needed immediate reform such as the home office and migrant system while other parties said “reform an inefficient system costing us money? Austerity is obviously the solution!” and acted like it was invisible.

Davies also seems like a genuine bloke and the party genuinely focus less on media attention which although acts as a double edge sword, i personally like that about them.

  5. I need to get a job in the print media, seems easy as piss

    > *Labour: yes, we will publish it in due course*

    > *The Independent: Labour REFUSES to publish*

I’d love to know how The Independent would confirm whether they’ll publish an obituary for the King.

  6. Proper scrutiny in Government requires all available information to be made available to those expected to vote on a policy.

As a matter of principle every MP should abstain from the vote until they have seen the Impact Assessment so that are at least in possession of all available data to inform their voting decision. We need to be able to hold our MPs to account for their voting in parliament but how do we do that when they are being asked to vote without knowing the facts and details.

When he became PM, Starmer promised a more open, transparent and honest Government; this isn’t that.

  7. >We’re not going to give information that will allow you to make an informed descision about what you’re voting on until after you’ve voted for it

    More of the same then.

  8. How can MPs vote without details of the impact assessment? That should be an abuse of procedure for a start.

  9. That’s just silly. If I vote for anything it is for greater transparency in decisions made by elected governments.

That’s pretty indefensible and I support the winter fuel payment cuts, you can’t have a blanket £300 for anyone old. If they didn’t went to look so bad they should of raised the threshold before someone loses out on the benefit
