I wanted to thank you. Some time ago (a month ago) there was a post here about scams for a “child with a new number” and this post helped me calm down my parents today.

Stepfather received such a text message while 12-year-old brother was still in school. Naturally, mother was worried, but after I warned her a thousand times about scammers – she came to me with it. I remembered a post I had seen earlier on this subreddit and based on it I calmed down my parents.

I also wanted to thank you for publishing such scams, it makes them easier to recognize.
