Bloody dailyhei… oh the Guardian? Fuck. Grumble grumble gone downhill it has.

The labour argument currently is the Tories’ were worse. That will just push some people away from labour if they keep sticking to that line.

That may be true, but “no worse than Tories” isn’t the bar that Labour should be aiming for.
Labour were sharply critical of the Conservatives for their cronyism, and rightly so. They said that they would be different, that they would govern with integrity, and be above that kind of thing.
So “no worse than Tories” is pretty damning. Labour have shown themselves to be more of the same.

It’s such a shame. They aren’t perfect, but they’re trying. If only we had seen the same level of outrage that we are seeing towards Labour now, towards the conservatives that we have had for the past 14 years. Maybe we would be in a better situation

It’s objectively hilarious how fast the shine has come off this terrible new government.

Mostly Starmer. No worse than the Tories is his unofficial slogan.

This is a massive stretch by any measure. The appointments into the civil service have, as far as has been reported, been in line with fair and open competition guidance.
The optics are pretty horrific but it does seem to be storm in teacup nonsense. This isn’t the same game of corruption as the conservatives, let alone at the level.

It was a really low bar and Labour so far haven’t even managed to jump over it.

They’ve been in power two minutes, and haven’t even reached their first budget yet. I get that people are eager for change – but can we please show a modicum of patience before jumping on the same old, unimaginative bandwagons?
