  1. It’s a shame that people haven’t learned that presidents don’t control gas prices by now.

  2. Try to explain OPEC+ to a MAGA person. I dare you. You’ll drive yourself crazy before they understand what you’re talking about.

He (Trump) was raging at the Arab nations because they would raise the prices of oil barrels 😂

  4. I noticed today that egg prices are skyrocketing again, so groceries will be the issue once more. Funny that I have not read about any bird flu outbreaks at egg farms. Must be gouging for Trump and profit.

  5. trump keeps trying to make american lives worse so he can gain politically.

i don’t think he has Americans’ best interest at heart. he only cares about himself and his personal gain.

When discussing gas prices historical context is crucial. I can remember in the Sixties when gas was .25 a gallon. In today’s world .25 in 1966 is about $3.00 in 2024 money. So gas prices are simply not that high. Add to that the fact that taxes on gas are much higher than they were in 1966, the reality is that gas prices for abundant gas are surprisingly moderate. Everyone looks at COVID gas prices as quite cheap BUT THE ECONOMY WAS SHUT DOWN AND THERE WAS NO PLACE TO GO. Due to the oil shocks in the 70’s gas prices quadrupled virtually overnight and gas, due to the embargo, was NOT ABUNDANT. Now that was a crisis. Long lines at gas stations and the limited gas supply could run out before you got to the pump. The entire US economy was thrown into turmoil. Nothing like that going on right now

  7. Is it really a win? All people seem to respond with is “of course, its an election year.” Unfortunately a lot of people simply are that dumb, this wont move their needle.

  9. This absolutely pissed me off. I ordered 200 of those “I did this” Biden stickers and haven’t been able to use a single one on gas pumps in like a year. I’ve been banned from each of the 3 grocery stores in my city for putting them on olive oil, mayonnaise and beef jerky. It’s just not right being a hard working father of two who can’t even shop in the local grocery stores, thanks Biden!

  10. Yep. he keeps telling us the country is a screaming shithole, but things are actually going fine.

Biden finally found the “gas go down” button.

I really wish we could teach all Americans about the economics behind the price of gas.

[Here’s a recent reply](https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/s/7HOw1pjFH6) on a thread about aviation CO2 emissions. This is the American public we’re dealing with:

    > I’d rather kill the planet than work till I die without being able to see it
Yeah I fucking said it. You aren’t winning anyone over with this asinine argument

  13. I heard that if Trump gets his way and gas prices go under $2 there is only one way that happens, and it is with a recession or massive economic downturn.

Why us it a blow to the Tru o campaign and not a benefit to the Harris campaign? Why is Trump the anchor point to the headline?

Because the media is biased in favor of Trump. Every time his name is in the news is a small bump.

We should be talking about all the benefits if the Biden/Harris time in office and how much more valuable her time in office will be.

When they are high, we got all the “I did that” stickers from MAGAts. When it’s low, MAGAts will say “it’s complicated”.

That’s the thing at play here. There is no consistency with these people.

The brainwashed right will still say it’s a fluke and without the keystone pipeline we will never get more money in our pockets

  17. No no. It is the media no longer carrying water for the lie that prices are out of control and that it’s “inflation” as a result of policy.

  18. I have coworkers that believes gas prices doubled the moment Obama got into office. Facts simply don’t matter to this crowd.

  19. Maybe voters will realize that promoting EVs will drop the demand for gasoline and lower prices.

  20. Another way to word this: “something positive that helps the American people is yet another blow to the Trump campaign”.

Drill baby drill is one of the dumbest main platform planks in the entire history of our country. He’s such a moron.
But he’ll keep saying it because he knows a three word slogan is all the Maga base can readily absorb.

  22. Just in time for the Teamsters to go on strike at the Detroit Marathon refinery to help jack up fuel prices in South East Michigan 👌

  23. Stock market at record highs? IRAs at record highs? COVID inflation fixed? Infrastructure addressed? Hmmm, maybe dems are good for the economy? Clinton years? Obama years? I dOnT kNow WhO tO vOTe fOr!

  24. I’ve never seen a candidate or campaign or party root so much for America to fail and for the people to be subjected to the worst conditions possible.

It’s not the world’s problem that you live beyond your needs and financial capability and want to blame the sitting president for gas prices.
