Trump is still gonna win Texas but he may need to spend a little time and money there for security. And every dollar and minute spent there is one less somewhere else he also needs even worse.

The poll shows Trump gaining 3% and is now at 49%.
It doesn’t show the lead narrowing, it shows an 8% increase in the eligible voter pool of which 3% went to Trump and 5% went to Harris.
According to the poll, Trump is borderline unbeatable in Texas at 49%

While I don’t think the dems are winning Texas anytime soon I am curious to know if Cruz is actually more vulnerable than Trump.
Iirc he underperforms Trumps metrics. So would that senate seat be more in play for the dems here than the presidential ticket?

hey ya’ll – we got ourselves a battleground state. Turns out Texans don’t want no school vouchers. We want fully funded public schools, no abortion bans, a grid that works good, do something about climate change, stop wasting billions on Operation Lone Star and we don’t want a criminal Attorney General who is a voter suppressor.

I’m not holding my breath, but if Harris was to win Texas, I could die A happy old man knowing that there is hope for our country to unite once again. Anyone remember the days after 911? The whole country band together. It was a sight to behold. Our adversaries didn’t like that and have been working to destroy it ever since. They have almost succeeded. Vote blue!

Texas has shitty turnout, largely from the efforts of the governor and SOS. If that can be remedied, Texas could easily be blue.

Putin invited all the MAGAs to move to Russia. Since we know how much they love Russia they will probably all be going. I can’t think of one good reason why they wouldn’t.

I personally know a good handful of people here in TX that would vote blue, but are classic cases of believing there is no point due to the overwhelming support of Republicans. There is by FAR enough democrats in TX to flip the state, all we need to do is help them to believe. I’m making more of a push this election than I ever have to get them out there!

Polls are completely useless unless they have 10-20,000 participants, 700 people does not dictate the mood of the country or one small area.
I hate polls with such minuscule sample sizes.

Texas has the worst voter suppression in the country. The government removed a popular on-campus polling location at TAMU. The government only allows ONE ballot dropbox per county, meaning Harris County, a county with 5 MILLION people and greater in landmass than the state of Rhode Island, has the same number of ballot dropboxes as a county with fewer than 1,000 people. Texas also has no online voter registration, you have to be 65 or older to vote by mail, and no same-day voter registration. Abbott has BRAGGED about removed a million people from voter rolls, and Paxton is trying to prevent Harris County and Bexar County from sending voter registrations.
Texas in 2020 (Trump won it by 5.5 points) was just about where Georgia was in 2016 (Trump won it by 5.09 points). And we all know what happened in Georgia in 2020. With a massive GOTV effort, Texas can flip.

Even if Texas doesn’t go blue, if they just force the GOP to spend more money there, then it will take it easier to take GA and PA.

This has been following the same trajectory since the early 2000’s – the spread of the GOP wins in a presidential election in TX has been dropping. Clinton was the first to bring it to single digits – Biden got to the 5’s… which is why his campaign started making some moves down there and maga hats literally ran the campaign bus off the road.
They know what’s up. They know. Texas can flip. Maybe not this cycle, but it can flip – and that’s why Paxton is doing what he’s doing.
