If the corrupt supreme court was able to delay the case the least we could do is let the american people see the evidence and judge trump for themselves.

  2. She emphasized that this trial is apolitical and, thus, election day doesn’t influence the schedule. Well put.

Trump’s only hope is Project 2025, and it has a real chance of happening if we stay passive

  4. Considering how James Comey fucked us by insisting the world needed to know about a (pointless) investigation into Hillary Clinton in 2016, you’d think the *actual evidence* in a *real criminal case* against a former president would be, you know, something people should see.

  5. [Here’s the order](https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.258149/gov.uscourts.dcd.258149.233.0_2.pdf)

Basically it stays all pre-trial proceedings and begins a briefing schedule to determine several things, including whether an evidentiary hearing is warranted.

Still a ton of unknowns, and the public *might* see new evidence before the election, but that’s far from certain.

If it comes to an evidentiary hearing, that will probably fall after the election – but assuming Trump loses – it will get the ball rolling again and hopefully resolve this immunity issue in a somewhat-timely fashion so that we can get back to scheduling for the actual trial.

Have to wonder if this will matter to his diehard supporters. Seems like they have bought into everything against him being a witch-hunt, so I doubt it.

  7. Crazy that we’re even debating or discussing this! IT’S SHOULD BE A NO BRAINER! America, do better!

  8. Good. The country needs to know as much as possible about this traitorous scumbag before the election.

  9. It’s seemingly no coincidence the deranged buffoon has recently been prattling on not only about how he had “every right” to meddle with the election, but, as well, that he lost by a hair.

His legal must have a good idea of what’s going to emerge and are trying to reframe this as the degenerate clown acting in an official capacity to challenge what he believed to be enough fraud to tip the scales.

Or some horseshit along those lines.

It’s what they’re “paid” to do.

  10. > Trump’s defense team had sought to delay the public release of evidence in the case until after the November election.

I wonder if the same people who decry the existence of early voting specifically because *voters shouldn’t cast their ballots until they have every last bit of insight into who they vote for* will think of that.

  11. Oh wow. Didn’t expect this to occur. Seems like we could get something sooner than later.

And if all goes well, who knows what else could happen. In a good way.

Good job Jack Smith, and Justice Curran. Keep up the good work.

  12. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/05/politics/january-6-case-evidence-release?cid=ios_app) reduced by 83%. (I’m a bot)

    > Judge Tanya Chutkan has set a schedule in the federal election subversion case against former President Donald Trump that will allow prosecutors to release never-before-seen evidence, such as grand jury transcripts, ahead of the presidential election.

    > Trump's defense team had sought to delay the public release of evidence in the case until after the November election.

    > At a hearing focused on scheduling Thursday morning, there was also acknowledgement among the parties and the judge that the scope of Trump's immunity in the newly revised election subversion case would likely be appealed.

What did you know and when did you know it? That second one is when it really starts to fuck with people’s stories

  14. It’s not about swing voters it’s about those who might vote versus who might not given the knowledge of what the former president did or did not do

  15. Apparently, Trump believes that it would be election interference if the public is told what Trump tried to do.

  16. He just admitted he lost “by a whisker”… I mean… that’s game set and match, no???  What are we even doing?

  17. Maybe they can let Comey do the official release the week before the election to redeem himself.
