We used to call people who talked like this crazy Birch Society wingnuts. I don’t know when we stopped calling them this or why. Because they still are.

Because for years he’s devalued those words of their meaning and now they’re just used as a chain of slurs devoid of any definition beyond “bad”

I’m old enough to remember the Simpsons joke about McBane being chased by a bunch of “Commie Nazis”, but now it’s just the reality on the right.

  3. Just once.. just one time.. I want a journalist or a interviewer to ask them to define what “communism” actually means. Like the literal definition of the word.

  4. Because the people dumb enough to believe him will vote for him anyway, and the people smart enough to know he’s full of shit won’t.

  5. They don’t land because they are so weird.

He’s like that homeless guy that loses arguments with telephone poles.

  6. tRump uses name calling like a 7 year old does.

However, he is confused when confronted by an adult like Harris who ignores his taunts.

  7. They don’t land because Trump even admitted that he would “be a dictator on day one.. just for one day.” You can’t make a statement that you’ll be a dictator and then try to convince the normal people that your opponent is a “Marxist, a communist or a fascist” …. that’s just weird.

  8. they don’t “Land” because he has been screeching for nine years now. At some point, you’ve got to reach your maximum limit of screeching. If you’re in his cult, that limit is somewhere on Mars

    From the article:

“While Harris continues improving her image among undecided voters who may choose the next president, Trump’s rally speeches are exercises in self-indulgence.

The name-calling and wild punches aren’t helping him win more votes. But Trump wants to be Trump, free from the discipline his aides have sought vainly to impose. He just keeps swinging away.”

His campaign managers have repeatedly tried to get him to stay on script. He can’t do it, because in his mind he’s always right.

  10. They don’t land because anyone with a rudimentary understanding of political ideologies would understand that Marxism, Fascism, and Communism are distinct philosophies that are wildly different from one another.

He’s just playing the “Let’s see how many scary buzzwords I can throw into a single sentence!” game.

It’s because he says the same thing about the guy who makes his hamberders. He says it about *everyone*.

He isn’t actually saying anything about her. He’s just throwing words that he thinks mean “bad” at her.

She’s saying things like “anti-labour union buster” about him. That’s a specific thing about him that has basis in what he has said and done previously.

Calling her a communist is just stupid name calling. She’s not a communist. It’s an incorrect observation of her politics and makes one think he has no idea what the hell he’s even talking about.

I would love to hear Donald Trump explain how Marxism is distinct from communism and what the major tenets of both are.

And a fascist calling their opponent fascist is just beyond the pale.
