Toyota says typhoon delays restart of production of three car models Toyota Motor says the typhoon that hit Japan late last week will delay the restart of assembly lines for three car models. Production of the models was halted in June after the company admitted to falsifying test data for the vehicles.

Toyota had planned to resume production of the two Corolla models and the Yaris Cross subcompact from Monday at two plants in northeastern Japan.

The company said late on Monday night that these plans were changed because Typhoon Shanshan had disrupted operations at the plants.

Toyota says it’s resuming production of other models that had been halted by the typhoon.

The carmaker says it aims to get vehicle deliveries back up to speed as quickly as possible, but is unsure when production will resume for the three models.

All three were confirmed to be in compliance with state safety standards in late July.
