Drone footage of another Russian armored assault which stops after the lead vehicle, equipped with a mine roller, drives straight into a Ukrainian minefield and explodes.

Isn’t a mine roller supposed to prevent this from happening?

They have single use mine clearing tanks now? Isn’t that just a normal tank then?

It turns out that gunning it through a minefield at full throttle isn’t the most thorough method of demining…
I guess it depends on your definition of de-mining, I suppose…

The speed at which that guy was going tells me that the driver knew he had a mine clearing device but was not told or had no understanding of how it worked. I imagine that their thought process was “This defeats mines, I am invincible”
By the time the mine detonated I imagine a large portion of the vehicle was now over it instead of the roller. Slowing down the video it 100% looks to me like the vehicle itself ate shit with the mine roller on the other side clear of the blast.
It’s funny the tanks just a burnt and blackened wreck of shit and the mine roller looks like it got spared.
