  1. It’s sad when Trump’s own advisors don’t think he was very good at the job – and the public still won’t listen.

The dude has never made a good deal in his entire life. North Korea actually accelerated its weapons program after dealing with Trump.

Donald Trump has lived a life propped up on Daddy’s money. The few grifts that Donald accomplished on his own would be completely unacceptable to Daddy.

  4. >Trump seemed to hear him, but in the Great Hall of the People, the president strayed from his talking points. He agreed with Xi that military exercises in South Korea were “provocative” and a “waste of money” and suggested that China might have a legitimate claim to Japan’s Senkaku Islands. McMaster, his stomach sinking, passed a note to Gen. John Kelly, the chief of staff: Xi “ate our lunch,” it read.

Ouch. The fact that there are freaking generals coming out with this stuff is significant, and the fact that Republicans can shrug it off as the “woke military” is really concerning.

  5. I mean, how many business bankruptcies has this guy had? That tells you all you need to know about how good of a businessman/deal maker he is

  6. Well….yeah….that’s his TV character. That’s like saying, “Tom Hanks really isn’t great at bringing failed NASA mission to a successful conclusion”.

He never wrote a contract with anyone and he has never read one. It was his lawyers who wrote and negotiated the contracts and all he had to do was to sign them.

Remind me again what America got in return when Donald and Mike Pompeo ordered the release of 5,000 Taliban prisoners, including the current leader?

  9. Trump as a businessman was always terrible. His one tactic was to refuse to pay people and then tie them up in court forever.

  11. The guy who can never accept defeat and thinks he is the best at everything can’t make deals? Who would have thought.

  12. Trump released 5,000 hardened Taliban fighters and got NOTHING in return, nothing. Wonder why the transition didn’t go well?

  13. This dude… guy is going on this vanity book tour making all these vague indirect criticisms of Trump. If you think he’s a threat take a stand or go home, could give a fuck about your book.

McMaster kept his mouth shut like a good boy after he was fired and now he’s doing the rehabilitation tour to cash in on his book.

He’s a POS just like his old boss

  15. Dude couldn’t make a beneficial deal to SAVE A CASINO. He literally SANK A CASINO. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU SINK A CASINO?!

Xi’s family survived Mao’s political purges. His dad was a Long Marcher.

Rolling Trump was probably the equivalent of light exercise for him.

  17. Trump is easily manipulated. He was a terrible businessman and terrible president with a good advertising group

  18. Harris turned a 4 billion dollar settlement into a 20 billion dollar payout. **That** is the art of the deal.

    >H.R. McMaster Doesn’t Think Donald Trump Is Very Good at Making Deals

There’s a very good reason for that.

  20. It absolutely blows my mind that Trump convinced everyone he was amazing by “hiring” all of the people his base thought were good, powerful people. Like John Kelly. And then convinced his base that all of those same people were losers and low lifes.

He convinced them all to believe in, and love, only him. It’s fucking incredible how he did that.

    > As McMaster writes in “At War With Ourselves,” the president could sometimes be kept on the straight and narrow with a clever dose of reverse psychology (Xi Jinping wants you to say this, Xi Jinping wants you to say that)

So there was ‘deep state’, it was his advisors/caregivers. Colourable daily briefings to keep him interested long enough to finish, keeping info away from him by distracting him with other things. Frightening, really.
