My family and I were snorkeling in a remote island in Honduras and stumbled across this when we were exploring the island. It looks like an upper cowling from a rocket but Wondering if anyone could identify exactly what it was.

  1. wow. that’s an Ariane Space rocket piece. Fairing? Interstage? May be from Ariane 6’s maiden launch a couple months ago.

I’d be giddy as hell to find this. I’d also be contacting them to let them know.

Why would they want it back? It’s broken. Finders keepers. I’ll drag it home for my junk collection

  3. That’s really cool. I assume you’re on vacation and can’t take it with you which is a bummer.

  4. I would keep this for sure. Unless I had to give it back..Very cool piece of history and it’s crazy you found this. What are the chances?

  5. This could be used as an improvised sail and would hopefully get you and little Wilson there out past the reef. Tie him on super securely though please.

  6. yall miss the fact that they’re on a remote island? gonna be pretty hard to take that back anywhwere lol

  7. It’s definitely a piece of an Ariane rocket, and from other comments it seems to be part of the interstate of an Ariane 5.

What I want to know is how part of an Ariane 5 interstage ended up in the gulf of Mexico (or maybe just south of it). That seems like a long way for the rocket to travel before stage separation.

  8. If I found that I’d get it restored and it’d be hanging in the living room for the rest of my life!!

  9. I don’t know how but it’s yours now and you can try and make some money off of it 😂
