Russia stops disclosing oil product output data Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service, or Rosstat, has stopped disclosing data on the output of oil products. Rosstat says the change was based on a Russian government decision.

Monthly statistics that Rosstat released on Wednesday did not show data on the output of diesel fuel, heavy oil and other petroleum products. The move follows Rosstat’s decision in May to stop announcing gasoline output data.

Russian media say the energy ministry determined that the disclosure of such information could be manipulated by unethical market participants in light of the current geopolitical situation. The decision is believed to be aimed at preventing market confusion caused by a decline in production.

The governor of Russia’s central region of Kirov said on Wednesday that a tank for storing oil products was hit by Ukrainian drones. Kirov is about 1,200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

British public broadcaster BBC reported that Ukraine has attacked oil depots and oil refineries in Russia and Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine at least 64 times this year.
