Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President Ekrem İmamoğlu said the following about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s name not being mentioned in the Friday prayer sermon: “A President of Religious Affairs cannot represent the country, the nation, the flag, the Republic or the state. He has officially seized and usurped it. He has also destroyed the faith of this nation. May Allah correct him.”
