Baby dolphin says hi to media in northern Japan A baby bottlenose dolphin has debuted in front of the media in Hokkaido Prefecture, northern Japan. And soon, the public will be able to get a glimpse, too.

The female, who does not have a name yet, was born at Otaru Aquarium on August 18. She is the first bottlenose dolphin to be successfully bred in Hokkaido.

On Thursday, she was seen swimming alongside her mother, who does have a name: Mary.

Visitors will be able to view the newcomer for limited hours starting on Monday. Aquarium official Shigemoto Mako said she hopes people come to see how she develops.
