  1. Same, I’m using a mix of Threads and Reddit and have deleted the X app.

Been a couple weeks now, the only thing I miss is rapid transfer news as Ornstein and Fabrizio aren’t quite as efficient on Threads. But window closes on Friday and can’t imagine I’ll be back on X or missing it at all after that.

News is easier on Reddit, and whilst some subs like this one frustrate me, at least the replies in the comments are relevant. The Threads app is not as good as old Twitter, but I’m seeing new content and new subjects, it’s interesting at least and the experience is better than X, even if the app isn’t as functional as Twitter

It’s literally Musk’s website though? If you don’t like him don’t use it.

Can’t expect Musk to change his own website to appease people like Lineker that’s stupid as shit

Our media and political class collectively in 2015 deciding that Twitter is the most important thing in the world is one of the most tedious things about this country. As is the bi yearly, very public, existential crisis they all have about leaving it.

Complaining about Twitter, whilst simultaneously using Twitter, is akin to intentionally stepping in shit just to bitch and complain about it after.

  5. I really don’t understand the hate Lineker gets. He comes across as a likeable, down to earth, reasonable bloke.

I’m really liking BlueSky at the moment. I’m having the same issue as everyone else where its really hard to choose an alternative especially since some people are staying on Twitter, some have moved to Threads, some to BlueSky, and fewer to Mastodon.

I love the open approach of Mastodon but in my experience theres very few people I know on there and people mostly talk about Mastodon on it. https://i.redd.it/j3on3j5f2w3a1.png

BlueSky seems the best bet for me personally because its open source and will supposedly federate soon, so one company doesn’t have control over the entire platform.

Threads I refuse to use because its Meta, and also its at the whim of one company so there’s nothing to stop future enshittification by Zuck in the same way that Musk did with Twitter. BlueSky seems a little more resilient against that.

  7. Twitter is clearly a right leaning platform now but opposing views don’t get silenced, unlike what was happening before.
