The game itself ended up being a massive deal. It was a huge upset off the back of last season’s drama where undefeated FSU were left out of the playoffs.

I’m not downplaying the event, it’s generally good for the economy (even though we as a public dont get to see much of it) but it’s interesting how positive a report the whole thing gets compared to just say the Europa League Final which was in the same stadium a few months ago.
The Europa League Final would have had tens of millions watching and a lot more than 25k travelled to it.
Again, both great but it just shows how they value the American dollar more than the footballing Euro.

Add to this Pat McAfee, a former NFL player and very popular broadcaster/youtube/espn hosted his own live show in a Dublin pub and hosted the ESPN college game day show. He may not be to everyone’s tastes but he did a hell of a job of selling Ireland as a destination for American fans to visit.

Best fun I’ve had at the aviva ever. Entertaining game and you can bring drink down to the stands. 4 hour game and having edge seats beside the bar made me very hungover Sunday.
Though the ques were horrible, the facilities in the aviva are so bad compared to croke park.

Frankly I don’t care for the economic benefits. Flying 30,000 people across the Atlantic for a game which has next-to-zero interest in this country is such a huge waste of carbon – especially for a country which declared a climate emergency only a few years ago.

Whatever ppls opinion on these games that’s a lot of cash to bring into Ireland from tourism.
Only issue is there may. Be f-all for them to do when they get here we need a tonne of new attractions in Dublin and around the country I would think
