  1. 70% of southern SF voters think immigration is too high.

    20% in the north.

Stark but not surprising. The polls post 2020 showed the SF vote to be a motley crew of malcontents, progressives, hard right and nationalists- with some mix in between.

They seem to be too busy devouring themselves over some trans nonsense in the North to be clawing back Irish votes

  3. SF have struggled with the fact that there 2020 polling was due to them being the anti-establishment party, which meant they got a lot of votes, which generally would not have gone there way. Since then they have struggled with maintaining those voters. A mix of arrogance and naivety has caused this. Their move to the left alienated those core voters who had supported them for years, and their popularity with younger voters hasn’t translated into votes in the most recent elections.

The usual media faces have also kinda disappeared. MLM, Eoin Obroin, and Pearse Doherty have been far less visible. And when they have been, they’ve done poorly in the interviews. For a party with some clearly extremely smart individuals they’ve failed to capitalise on it.

Sinn Fein and NGOs continue to be the whipping boys for over a decade of government failure despite being nowhere near the levers of power.

Shifting the blame has been a smart move by the incumbents to keep themselves in power, but now the monkeys are starting to take over the zoo.

Can anyone tell what is the tangible difference between SF and our current government?

Their solution for the housing crisis is just building more houses. They don’t want to touch immigration despite them being teed up for an easy win.

They even supported the wildly unpopular care referendum.

How can anyone trust them to run the government competently when they can’t even handle making themselves a separate option.

I think a clear message has to be sent to the government ,that their refusal to solve any problems has pissed off a sector of the population. I don’t have much faith in sinn fein but I think we at least need to break the cycle or ff fg. Maybe after failing to get elected they might change tactics.
