Except that they passed a rule that they will certify the election BEFORE the deadline for ballots to arrive from overseas and the military. So if it’s a close vote and the overseas ballots could turn it, they just completely ignored those and certify the wrong winner.

Both countries had gone through decades of state sponsored propaganda that lead them to believe that their leaders were gods – in Japan’s case, literally a God, that could do no wrong.
It can’t and likely won’t happen in America but I think the only long term solution to the Republican Cult problem is to run the same type of campaign on Republicans.
