One of the best Gig’s I ever went to, pity we’ll never have the great Prodigy play again.

A friend of mine was but he got super drunk during the supporting act and fell asleep in a portaloo for the entire oasis set

  3. That was the last gig before I left the country for good. The ticket scanners weren’t working, so thousands of people people handed their tickets back through the fence for their friends to just walk in no bother, free of charge.

The line for a drink was ridiculously long. Luckily, I was high on yokes, so it wasn’t an issue for me, just a 99 thanks, that’ll do.

I believe the bus situation was nuts getting back to the city because of all the extra people. We had our own mini bus, so it didn’t affect us. I remember hearing that there was 80k tickets sold, and 120k attended, I can’t confirm them numbers.

The gig was savage though. Life long dream to see Oasis didn’t disappoint .

  4. Went to Heaton Park instead.

    Kasabian and The Enemy supported.

Missed The Enemy because of queues for jox office (tickets were never posted) and queue into the arena. RAGIN’ !

  5. Me.. barely got out alive.. walked about four hours before we could get on a bus back to the city!

Yep I was. Security Really messed up that year.. missed all the support cos it took so long to get in. Great gig though

  7. Had 2 tickets for the Lansdowne rd gig in 2000 that I couldn’t make in the end. Couldn’t give the tickets away

Yeah, one of the best gigs I’ve been to. Kasabian and The Prodigy opened for them, wasn’t a fan of The Prodigy but they were incredible. Oasis were great too. Nightmare getting home though, shitshow by Dublin Bus. Didn’t get back to O’Connell Street until half 3 in the morning!

  9. I was there but didn’t really enjoy it, from logistics getting in and out and couldn’t get a drink. And crowd were rough enough, it put me on edge. I way preferred Marley Park in 2005 (I think).

Was front row for the whole day… Mate and I were absolutely starving all dy, one of the stewards took pity on us and gave us half a sandwich each

    Great gig though

Had moved on from them by that stage but been to see them a couple of times.

Was too young for Cork in 96 but remember it being broadcast on the radio and sitting in the garden on a summer evening listening to it/recording it.

Saw them in the point in 98 with Noel singing, great gig.

Also saw them in Lansdowne in 2000 which wasn’t so great.

Will definitely try get tickets for the shows in Croke Park.

  12. Got a ticket for free off a friend.

    Blizzard’s where class

Glas Vegas where so bad it made be wonder how they ever where popular. Their drummer wouldn’t have been out of place on a roman boat banging the row drum.

    Kasabian where unreal.

Prodigy, nothing to say, unbelievable. Couldn’t have been more pumped for Oasis.

then… Oasis came on and there was just something missing. 3 songs in my group upped and left. Sold my pit pass for 30 or 40 quid and we walked back to the buses.

Me and my friends were up front at the barrier. Once the prodigy finished we hopped over the barrier and had a nice walk through the town back to the car.
