As he should, that ruling was insane.

Cannon couldn’t be any more biased in favor of Trump and crossed a major line in what can be argued as acceptable

  2. > The brief does not otherwise call for Cannon to be removed from the case — though the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals is free to do so independently.

I’m a little surprised by this, but I guess just “being an idiot” isn’t enough to get a judge tossed when it comes to Trump.

I have three layers of “hopefully” on this. Hopefully his challenge is successful, Hopefully the 11th circuit court hands her ass back to her for a second time, and hopefully they’ve had enough and see fit to remove her from this case before she manages to embarass the Florida legal system further.

Republicans have made it impossible for me to trust the judiciary anymore.

I am led to believe that the entire legal profession & judiciary is one giant scam.

Anyone can make up any judgment they want in any case and it’s ok.

What a bunch of bs and no wonder she’s up Dumpty’s ass.

President Donald Trump nominated and appointed Cannon to the federal bench after confirmation by the U.S. Senate in November 2020.

  6. I was going to just write Episode III: Revenge of the Smith, just drop that and leave it but that’s pretty low effort, you guys can take it and use it somewhere or whatever if you want.

Not only should he appeal the decision, given the gravity of the crimes, he should further name cannon as a co-conspirator.

  8. This would be the second strike against her. What are the chances she also gets thrown off the case?

Classified documents, top-secret compartmentalized data. What is it stake here?

They hung the Rosenbergs on less. This case deserves the full investigative power of our agencies to determine the damage. This man has done to our national security, and to determine how he is to be punished for this most ingregious violation against our nation.

She threw the case out? Maybe she’s incompetent, but maybe she needs to be investigated as well.

  10. Here’s the filing. 81 pages so I will be reading a while. From the table contents there are a lot of sites previous decisions supporting the special counsel appointment. I will skim over those.

I wish there was a cut and pasteable copy. Still haven’t figured out how to so that.

What ever the circuit court decides this will be appealed to the supreme court so don’t expect anything to happen quickly.

    Prediction:

11th will overturn and remove Cannon from the case.

Trump will appeal to SCOTUS. SCOTUS will reverse the 11th and through the entire Special Council process into turmoil…

President Harris then makes Smith Attorney General and he reopens the case…

And Cannot threw out the case because, essentially, she found that Smith had no right to pursue the case.

If Garland himself had done it (used in-house attorney), she would have no argument. But Garland did it specifically so it would _not_ be the (Biden’s) Attorney General pursuing Biden’s political opponent.

So, because Garland was doing the right thing, Cannon exploits that, and calls foul [ridiculously].

Meanwhile, this calls into question almost every other special counsel(!) [More ridiculousness.]

Basically, Smith’s challenge is going to prevail. It will be thrown back to Cannon, for her to (again) slow-walk the trial, but the damage is done.

  13. Yeah fuck that, he should already be in lockup at Guantanamo for stealing and selling national secrets

  14. After Trump loses this election, can we please just remove her from the court? She is obviously heavily biased toward Trump and wouldn’t be surprised if there was some kind of quid pro quo arrangement…how no one has investigated her is mind blowing.

  15. The bigger thing here is he just appealed. Canon is not of the thing after the appeal. Which I dont. Why not also kick her off the case.

  16. Cannon is dead set on destroying the idea that no man is above the law. Her actions are so obviously tainted as to make a mockery of her as a person, as a jurist, and of her own court.

What would be the cherry on top of the Icing is that she loses her job as a judge over this.

Then she can be another ass kisser for Trump, who became disgraced and loses their job and their lavish life for Trumps favor.

Everyone who bends the knee for Trump ends up worse off

  18. I assume that if Pryor’s court throws out this decision the case can come before a different judge in the Southern District of Florida… right?

  19. Trump is going to die before this case makes any headway. And the payments he received for our nation’s security secrets will get transferred to his kids. And that’ll be it.

Our society isn’t capable of holding a wealthy person accountable to the law.
