  1. Trump has two strategies:

    1. Crowd support giving the illusion that what he is saying makes sense and is popular.
    2. Bullying and overpowering.

ABC isn’t allowing a crowd, so no #1. Trump’s handlers don’t think #2 will work against Harris.

  2. It is so nice to have someone leading the ticket who is able to skillfully deal with felons, nonsense, and at the risk of sounding redundant, the GOP. Biden debate performance aside, he took the high road way too often and always gave Trump control over these debate negotiations and setup.

  3. Jeez, republicans, try running somebody with some dignity next time. Dude whines about how unfair everything is for him all the time. What a spoiled asshole.

  4. Trump’s 78-year-old brain can’t keep up with Harris in a debate setting. He’s not a serious person and his handlers know it.

  5. Why is a -checks notes- “peak alpha male stable genius” crying and whining about a debate rule that says both mics will be muted while the other person is speaking?

Why does a “peak alpha male stable genius” care so much about that? I would think he would be so confident in his performance that such a small thing wouldn’t matter in the least.

Guess he’s not a “peak alpha male stable genius” after all. Just the sad, scared, confused, tired sold man that he looks like.

Edit: Thanks to those who pointed out that it is Trump’s Campaign that now wants muting. Either way the whining and crying coming from Trump definitely does NOT say “peak alpha male”.

Debate must be a point system with real time fact checking. For every lie there must be a 10 points deduction.

At the rate polls are shifting, by September 10th, he’s gonna need to debate just to try to change things. Hell, we’re just about at that point right now.

I saw Kaitlin Collins on Bill Maher’s show last weekend. This topic came up and she said her Trump campaign sources all say Trump doesn’t want to debate.

  9. I imagine Trump himself is not terrified because he honestly believes he is the smartest person ever.

But because he is completely unhinged and unraveling, his campaign is terrified and trying to persuade him not to do it under the guise of unfairness or other nonsense.

He’s just whining to make sure ABC gives him softball questions with no fact checking or followup when he word salads a blatant lie and doesn’t answer the question. This will absolutely happen and it’s all on Kamala to call him out.

In the end she will either get blamed for spending too much time calling Trump a liar and not answering the questions with enough detail, or she’ll answer the questions with specific responses and get blamed for not calling out Trump’s bs.

Strong women have always terrified Trump. Hilary terrified him too, that’s why he needed the full force of Benghazi hearings and FBI investigations to eke out an electoral college victory with something like 80K votes. But a woman with enthusiastic support from the base is MAGA kryptonite. None of the attacks are sticking and it’s eating away at him.

  12. Trump was looking forward to the debates when he was bullying an old man. Debating someone who can rhetorically punch back isn’t as much fun.

Bullies are people who could never take what they dish out.

  13. Everything is always framed with how Trump feels or reacts to everything else.. I’m so tired of giving him so much free press and normalization or acting like we need to have an article about every damn thing he says or does.. so tired…

Seriously this dude never stops complaining lol. It’s so exhausting.

I thought conservatives were the party of fuck your feelings? It sure seems like their orange god has an awful lot of extremely sensitive feelings..

They ran the simulations, it’d be far worse for Trump if he went through with the debate.

I pray for all those debate prep stand ins that bang their heads at Trumps incoherent ramblings and goldfish memory to recall talking points

  16. He pulled this same shit with Biden and we all know how that went. Don’t fall for it again. Be prepared.

Wishful thinking like this story may feel good but the only way to stop him is to vote

  18. I would hope she has him figured out. Every world leader has him figured out which is why he is so dangerous. He is a very simple man. Stroke his ego and he’ll write you a live letter. Insult him and he melts down like a toddler.

  19. In his defense It’s so very hard to think clearly when your bone spurs are acting up again .

Like most cowards they run scared when they know they’ve met their match. Trump’s biggest fear is a smart, strong black woman.

  21. Seriously, didn’t we all knew he’d try to back out with odd excuses?
Not surprised by this at all

If you want to be a strongman dictator don’t you have to actually be strong? Instead of a whiny little bitch.

After trump’s demise Liz Chaney will make a comeback to save the republicans from themselves.

  24. Let’s face it! Trump is a “Fraidy Cat”! Afraid to debate a woman who is smarter than him.

Just a reminder that Kamala is the same woman who took on BARACK OBAMA WHILE HE WAS PRESIDENT AND WON.

I imagine there is a very short list of people who could challenge her at a debate, and Trump is not even within sniffing distance of that list.

  26. Before we all get into the “Harris is going to kick his ass” phase, let’s remember that everyone was saying these same talking points on how Biden was going to crush Trump. And we all saw how that turned out.

Harris is more youthful, has a history of public speaking and having to do so on her feet, and **should** be the better debater. But, after what happened with Biden, I’m not completely confident, especially after watching Harris try to handle some live questions in interviews where she hasn’t always done the best.

Point being, let’s not assume that a debate is necessarily going to be good for Harris. At this point, her pinning Trump into a corner where *he* chooses to back out might be the safest win she can get.

  27. Trump also likes doing look at me tactics like playing a “will they or won’t they” regarding debates. It’s got to be pissing him off that all attention is on Harris as she is shiny and new while he is still trotting out the same stuff. So he’s trying to create this debate drama. The way to play it off is the way Harris is, by not making the drama all about him but if he has the courage to actually show up or just wuss out.

  28. Red-Leader-001 on

If I were Harris, I’d announce that I will be there and love to debate Trump, but can also debate an empty podium if he is too afraid to show.

He’s going to lose, whether it’s the debate or the election. He’s done for
