  1. Surely the supposed purpose of such an article is to make people feel more safe, but in truth I feel the opposite.

Our family have basically ruled out attending any large organised event for a while now.

We still go to busy places like the zoo, beach etc.

But we don’t go to major events like this.

    Anyone else in this boat?

  3. Better safe than sorry tbh. Lots of bad stuff happening in the world right now, and some groups feel we’re either involved in it or serve as a good distraction from it all.

I live in Newcastle and they’ve installed anti truck barriers on our Main Street and at Christmas they put them in at the edge of the markets. They also have armed police stationed and patrolling during these events. Very sad.

  5. If this was announced by Nigel Farage, people would accuse him of stoking “racial” tensions.

  6. We have these in the town where I work. They look an absolute mess compared with the aesthetic of the town. I do understand that they are making the area less easy for that specific type of attack to take place, but honestly, all I think is, what does the council know that makes them think we need this? Are we expecting an attack. They have been in place for over twelve months now.
