Much use they are there. What bright spark made that f up?
Was talking with an Irish Rail lad, the batteries they got to extend the DART line are running into similar problems. Millions spent on them, but they can’t transport them because of restrictions.
Shower of useless bastards.
Deadly. We’re experiencing power shortages due to useless data centres so now we’re importing more generators.
Delighted to see the government are tackling the housing crisis by driving us all to extinction
By my reading the issue is the bridge over the Liffey. Rest of the M50 is fine. They only need to get to West Dublin.
Surely then the solution is nautical – unload on the South Port, or ship them to Dun Laoghaire, or even (depending on size) send them on a barge down the canal?
(I’m no expert, so feel free to tell me the issues with any of those options)
Oh look, it’s that time of the year again.
You don’t just buy these generators and take them home to find out there is an issue. You contract the supplier to supply, deliver and install. It’s up to the supplier to deliver, quite common. If there is an issue, it’s the supplier who messed up.
Surely they transport loads like this in other countries. Why are our bridges special, or were they designed to a lower spec and cheaper because paddy knows best.
Load them onto rail and move them out that way somewhere they can be unloaded onto a truck to their destination.
