Time again for another MRE review. This time it’s a fairly new Lithuanian Beef Stew with Vegetables. Keeping with our beef stew theme, this one tasted much better than the 1970’s LRRP freeze dried US MRE and later versions. Maybe that was because it wasn’t decades old?!?

This MRE had an excellent flameless ration heater, but also comes with a field stove with fuel tabs. Most of these come with a side of nuts, usually hazelnuts or almonds. The hazelnuts with this tasted good, but they serve them roasted but not salted or spiced in any way.

The other sides include classic hard tack or "rusks" with a packet of honey. This was topped off with two dark chocolate bars. Drinks came in the form of Orange Tang style powdered drink mix and instant coffee. Sugar was provided, but no creamer.

All in all, a great meal and filling. The main was piping hot, more meaty than a stew, but very savory. Bits of carrots and potatoes included. I thought it could have been saltier. A little hot sauce would have helped too.
