  1. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the band told Billboard: “Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were, they would not have granted it.” The spokesperson said that “appropriate actions are being taken” against the campaign and that any royalties received as a result of the usage of the song will be donated to the Harris/Walz campaign.

    Yes!!!!

I wish they had disavowed their actions half as strongly when they supported Peter Duesberg amd Christine Maggiore’s organization with a live performance at their HIV/AIDS denialism fundraiser

  3. These articles always bore me. The foo fighters are contracted by a group that licenses use of their music to campaigns like Harris and Trump. Use of music is not an endorsement. I do like the frame every time you use it, I’ll donate to your competitors. That’s clever.

  4. As he will never ask permission, artists should start preemptively prohibiting Convicted Felon Trump’s campaign from using anything from their entire catalog. Even a simple message on their preferred social media platform would suffice.

I hate the way this headline is written.

The Foo Fighters only had to “deny letting Tromp use their song” because he didn’t ask them if he could…

But I guess a headline like “Tramp uses Foo Fighter song without permission” makes Trimp look bad or something…

If every song you like is made by people who dislike you so much that they publicly distance themselves from your use of the song, how does that not lead to a bit of self reflection, that you might actually be the baddies?

Why can’t they just use some White power band’s music. They’re more aligned in the end anyway and they’d approve of the play.

  8. MAGA is a movement representing people who broadly lack the imagination and emotional depth to generate meaningful culture of their own. They appoint themselves the defenders of a culture and civilization, to which not a single one has contributed anything meaningful, ever.

  9. Remember when he played fortunate son?

The lack of awareness on every single front of maga is astounding

  10. The last thing you want is Dave Grohl’s attention.

These guys turned up with full concert equipment on a flatbed truck and blasted Westboro Baptist Church with mocking parody music

  11. Alright, but Rage against the machine surely won’t deny using their songs on events meant to get a fascist elected!

  12. This comes up every time some politician uses a song at a rally. The musicians don’t generally have any say in the matter.

  13. Yeah how messed up is that when I think Foo Fighters I think establishment and all the bad things that come along with it and here they are being anti-trump like all of the bots around here, it’s so very obvious to all of us that can see.

I think at this point Trump’s whole strategy is to just keep using songs once and then never again once the cease letters come. He knows he can get away with it once.

At what point does an artist have grounds to show intent and get smacked down in a civil suit?

LOL their campaign is going to have to start using those crappy off brand cover songs where they remove the lyrics and change the key to not get sued for copyright infringement.
