I got emotional watching Gus’s real, genuine, loving reaction that night. As he yelled “that’s my dad!” it warmed my heart. I never could have imagined that Republicans could turn that into something ugly. And in hindsight, I totally should have predicted it. The GOP is as hateful as we are loving. I Should have learned that over the past eight years.
