Baku detained government critic, journalist Bahruz Samadov
Bahruz Samadov is an outspoken critic of the government and often writes about Azerbaijani politics. His family confirmed to friends and the media that he was arrested on Wednesday night and the family’s apartment was searched. The Ministry of Internal Affairs told an independent journalist that they had not arrested Samedov. Armenian government approves simplified registration process for those offering passenger transportation services through electronic platforms, such as GG, Yandex, and Utaxi. Armenia bans import and transit of rodents and primates amid mpox concerns
Starting August 21, Armenia has banned the import and transit of all types of rodents (both live and dead, including those used as animal feed) and primates through its territory. Pashinyan: Vedi Reservoir almost complete, will irrigate over 3,200 hectares in Armenia
The Vedi Reservoir project, valued at €90 million, is set to be completed this year. Located on the right bank of the Vedi River in Armenia’s Ararat Province, the 29.4 million cubic meter reservoir is primarily funded by the French Development Agency. Once operational, the reservoir will provide reliable irrigation for around 3,220 hectares, benefiting 5,000 farmers.
