I think the people suggesting that these t-shirts are sexually suggestive need to take a good look at themselves. The problem seems to be in their dirty, perverted minds, seeing sex everywhere they look.

  2. How are strawberries sexually suggestive? these people need to go have a mental health evaluation… if we had those types of services

  3. “A “snack” is a term informally used to describe a person who is sexually attractive, according to Oxford Languages.”

I think the word snack has another meaning too…

  4. I don’t agree that it was sexually suggestive, but I do agree with pulling the shirt, cos it was shit.

  5. When I was a child a weird guy whispered “you’re a star” in my ear and started following me just because I had a star on my baggy jumper. I doubt Zara intended anything weird but certain men need so little provocation to letch on little girls, it’s fucking gross. I don’t know whether pulling it was necessary. The less ammo for creeps the better. But a slogan in a t shirt is really not responsible for men being this way.

I do have to wonder though what the crossover is between mums outraged by this top and those that dress their little girls in a crop top and cycling short combo

For the sins of a past life I used to work in Primark. They sell (or sold) little girls’ pants with a cherry and a winking face. And one with licking lips.

I wonder what the kids who made the pants thought of the people who bought them for their kids…

It’s a weird as fuck t-shirt – like it seems like an advert for a fruit brand – but I don’t see how it’s sexually suggestive at all. I initially thought that maybe someone was thinking the strawberries were in the place of boobs and boob-strawberies (booberries?) with the caption “take a bite” were the problem…. but then I read the article and the strawberries are on the back and the supposed offense is “snack” meaning a sexually active person, which is so clearly not the context here.

I would have never seen this as sexually suggestive. I would seriously question those who do find it sexually suggestive.

It is still weird to have on a t-shirt unless you are working for a strawberry farm or something

Calling someone a “snack” sounds like something from The Great Gatsby.

“I say, old bean, that new filly of yours is quite a snack.”

Does anyone really talk like that?

Tbh I understand, a strawberry cut in half looks slightly vaginal then the take a bite, I could see how it could be interpreted as sexual but you’re reaching a bit

There is some really weird shit these fashion companies try to stick on children. There’s that pair of trousers with “JUICY” written on the arse and you’ve got fuckin 5 year olds wearing that shit like it’s normal. I want the people designing these things jailed, they know what they’re fucking doing they’re pushing the boat on sexualising children. The people in this thread saying this isn’t sexually suggestive are just flat out fucking lying.

The shirt is weird enough. It doesn’t need anyone adding an extra layer of weird by making it sexual.

It’s a really odd design regardless of the alternative meanings. Reminds me of something from a market in Thailand or similar where the wording is just a jumble of English words that don’t really make sense and are just decorative.

Its a bit weird but come the hell on you pervy wankers, its talking about fucking strawberrys.

If all you see is sexual innuendos everywhere you look then you’re the one with the serious problem, not the t shirt

I’m just so tired of seeing everyone making everything sexual regardless of how completely non sexual it is

  16. I was handwaved away in 2001, aged 17, when I complained to my employer, Burger King, about having to wear a badge on my tit that said ‘suck it and see’.

Some stupid shit about colour-changing straws, by the way. Meanwhile the customers gave me no end of grief. Needless to say, I was in that job for about 3 weeks before I threw my hat and name badge at the supervisor and walked out.

Honestly, I’ve noticed that so many fast fashion shirts have the weirdest phrases on them, as if they’ve been designed by someone who doesn’t understand English fully or is an AI, and I’ve noticed in the past that Zara is really bad for it. I really do think it’s innocent but it’s just generally weird.

  18. I’m going to go against the grain here and say it clearly is sexually suggestive. A children’s t-shirt with strawberries by itself is fine. But why place two of them together with a caption of “the perfect summer snack”, like it just doesn’t make contextual sense on a shirt for children.

Then on the front it just says “the perfect snack” on the left side with nothing else around it so you’d have children wearing a shirt that at first glance just reads that they’re a “perfect snack” which is in and of itself super weird and wrong.

Sorry, not sorry. This is cringe and it’s good it was removed. I always think though that when stuff like this happens, they planned it for PR or something. It wasn’t a mistake.

  19. reminds me of when the “coolest monkey” H&M shirt got pulled… people will go to far lengths to find something offensive

  20. Weird_Assignment649 on

This isn’t intentionally suggestive, but it kinda is too.

Like a teen girl wearing this would make worry

  21. Every do often Zara will pull an edgelord stunt like this with their clothing. They’ve been called out in the past for swastika use, anti semitic stuff… this is par for the course with them.

No such thing as bad publicity.

    They are a trash company.

Whoever interpreted that already has their head in a bad place.ni wonder what they have to say about m and ms. There was a kid in down the other day. Too young but has juicy embroidered across the back. Inappropriately decorated kids clothing has been a sickening issue for years. This tee shirt is nothing to write home about its down to parents to boycott. If it wasn’t popular they’d stop marketing.

  23. I don’t think it’s sexual but it’s a really shit design. Looks like an AI came up with it

  24. Always some weirdo who _needs_ to be outraged or on a crusade about something, just so they feel like they’re relevant or something.

If they think this was sexual they probably need to seek help about their own train of thoughts…

  25. Yeah they should delete this clothing. It’s not that my mind is in the gutter. But children and sex should be on complete opposite spectrums. And if any article of clothing alludes to any innuendo, kissing, sex or anything immediately throw it away and try again. That’s my verdict 😕

  26. These people are fucking insane. It’s clearly a metaphor for enjoying being near the child and it bringing joy.
