Famously no boats that have been said to be unsinkable have sunk.
Right?

The rescuers are saying all the windows were open, to make the most of the weather.
A yacht like that, sealed up, should be able to capsize and be fully submerged and just pop back up again. But if you let the water get inside and open up a place for air to escape it’ll sink like a stone.

It sounds like a silly thing to say but I expect there is a proviso that’s missing. I would actually expect them to be saying something like it’s unsinkable unless you do x with x being something extremely negligent. They will be trying to pin this on negligence in some way I am sure given how wealthy everyone involved is and the potential for law suits.

Terrible damage control there which makes his company sound like they don’t know the basics.
I’m hardly a jolly Jack Tar and even I know any boat can sink and they all have different sea handling, making them more or less likely to take damage and sink.

If a ship manufacturer ever describes their product as ‘unsinkable’ then run a mile from it

Often Italians have to face lengthy manslaughter trials in these sorts of cases. It’s quite likely he’ll be arrested and charged with manslaughter I think. That could be why he is so vocal over this.
Ayrton Sennas team faced manslaughter charges and were acquitted years later

This really isn’t news. Why do the BBC keep running it as a headline online and on TV? Posho doshos sunk their boat. Not news.

Would the water spout move enough water from under the ship to affect its buoyancy?
This CEO not very smart, and has not learned from history
If a rogue wave can do [this](https://www.esa.int/ESA_Multimedia/Images/2004/06/Damage_done_by_a_rogue_wave) to a freaking tanker, your puny yacht sure as hell be sunk by the sea.
Not with that attitude it’s not. I think we need to forget these crazy conspiracy theories and accept that Cthulhu is real.
