Inflatable boat licence? 👀

Hi everyone!

I’m interested in purchasing an inflatable boat, specifically one of these models from Galaxus:

The Galaxus website mentions the following:
“Registration of a vessel: Generally, all vessels operating in public waters require a navigation licence and a licence plate. It’s recommended to contact the relevant cantonal authority for specific regulations and exceptions.”

I heard that boats over 2.5 meters in length need to be registered. Is this accurate? It seems a bit absurd to me that an inflatable boat would require registration!

If that’s the case, does anyone know who to contact for registration and how much it would cost? I’m based in the canton of Zurich.
