Its not very scenery and i teresting route. I would skip Panevezys ant Marijampole. Visit Kaunas. You can definetly have nice 1-2 days. Oldtown, Nemuno Sala, laisves Aleja, Pazaislio vienuolynas etc. Trip advisors will help you.
Visit Kaunas – old town, castle. Depend on interest you can find devil or other museums or zoo.
Kedainiai – old town is small but cosy. There around is shooting clubs. There is nice road from Kaunas to Panevezys close to river Nevezis. This road you can visit smaller towns on a way like Kedainiai, Krekenava to Panevezys. Panevezys Industrial town.center area old soviet style. new museum just opened in Panevezys.there upstairs panorama of city.
Localy HUMANA is biggest secondhand shops in big towns on a way.
If you go with family you can find zoo near latvia border.
Local breweries are north side of Lithuania. Pasvalis or Biržai. Most famous beer road can be located there as tasting beers in brewerie. Birzai castle is nice.town cosy.lake with pedal boats. Enjoy your trip.
Kaunas is the place to be if you like architecture. Because of the Art Deco style Kaunas is also called „little Paris“. A lot of attractions, museums and beautiful buildings!
Would recommend Art Deco museum and Amsterdam school museum for the true feeling of Kaunas history. You just need to purchase tickets in advance and hopefully find excursions in EN.
As guys already told – make a stop in Kaunas. XI fort museum very much worth seeing among other mentioned earlier. Also you can make short stop near [Krekenava observation tower](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ucrNprZ5zeA2FFps7?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy) and [Pasiliai bisons](https://maps.app.goo.gl/an5pxv9ygjT54LBi8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy)
Need to drive longer distances for other attractions.
