  1. The prohibition of cannabis and other drugs in Ireland ensures that Organised Criminal Gangs have a constant source of revenue to finance other ventures such as arms dealing, human trafficking etc

Since HHC is legal, where would one buy such jellies? Any ~~head~~ CBD shop? Are they really like the real thing? Asking for a friend 👀

Synthetic cannabis proliferation is a policy choice by the Irish government.

These products are somehow legal, while actual cannabis has been illegal for decades now.

They have chosen to allow more dangerous, synthetic drugs to circulate without restriction while blocking efforts to legalise and regulate cannabis.

  4. I tired that stuff, found it pretty weak. It felt like I had a spliff about an hour ago and never got any better than that.

This is another side effect of the terrible prohibition laws. Every day prohibition makes drugs more dangerous and gives more money to criminal gangs. This is all entirely the fault of the law, they have no credibility pointing fingers at other things.

These are not synthetic cannabis products. Cannabis produces between 80 to 100 different cannabinoids. HHC is one of them, THC and CBD are two others. You’d think the State’s forensic laboratory would have the knowledge and intelligence to make that distinction.

  6. The safest way to mitigates risk from the black market is to legalise and regulate.

You’d also create countless jobs through sales, cafes and even the farming industry could benefit.

The tax generated could be used to give our health system a boost. In U.S states with similar population sizes to Ireland, they are seeing billions in sales per year. Which is obviously a decent sized tax bill.

Wow if only we had a solution to this problem we’ve tried absolutely nothing and the problem is still present hmmm

Funny way of framing this from them. It’s as “synthetic” as orange juice, ffs. It’s a naturally occurring thing, and maybe it is more harmful than THC but legalize and regulate THC so if this is so dangerous. I can say for certain it’s not as harmful as many other legal products.

Nothing but fearmongering. These products are safe and, like anything else, abusing them will obviously lead to adverse consequences. I’ve used HHC (responsibly) basically daily this year, it’s perfectly fine.

  9. They love to tag these with “synthetic.” There’s nothing cannabis related to this product. Litteral poison sprayed on dead leaves but tag it “synthetic cannabis” to prolog the propaganda campaign against cannabis..

  10. I was absolutely strung out on HHC for a few months there. Don’t want to go too deep into it and you’re all (hopefully) adults here who can make your own choices – but I’d recommend you do anything fucking else with your time than take this poison.

American visiting for a while and I am super confused that all the delta 8 variants I can get back home are found here. Often the same companies?

    >A number of adverse health incidents have been reported by users, including four teenagers who fell ill have smoking a vape containing HHC in November 2023. Adverse effects can include vomiting and collapsing.

    Mother of Jesus.
