Man CNN really shat the bed with their awful reality-divorced “analysis” last night after Joe Biden’s speech. I think they finally might’ve damaged themselves beyond repair in the eyes of their remaining tiny viewership

  2. Some great speakers today.

    JB “The Great Kahn” Pritzker

    Bernie

    Duckworth

    Michelle and Barack Obama

  3. Day 1 was an absolute banger. Each moment seemed to top the last. You could feel the energy and emotion. Let’s go!!

  4. I can’t be staying up that late every night. Hopefully their “heavy-hitters” for the rest of the week won’t be rounding out the evening each night. They need to put them more toward prime-time viewership.

  5. So – what exactly do these subscription-based media companies think is going to happen business wise when they piss off both sides of the political spectrum with their antics and the internet has enabled micro-publishing.

Between the insane WaPo “fact checking,” Semafor grousing about lack of prioritization of media at a unified convention that will be viewed live by millions already, and NYTimes doing their continued “lack of details in policy” one-sided shouting – I just don’t understand what they think the freaking end game is here.

  6. I wasn’t home last night so I’ve been watching the highlights. What an electric atmosphere. Felt like a playoff NFL game compared to a political convention. Let’s keep it going!

  7. They really need to pace it a lot better today.

For one, make it clear to the speakers that the room sounds way way more quiet on tv, so they should just keep speaking and not worry about the crowd drowning them out.

Last night Biden gave a great speech but I fear the most important part went unheard: Violence is NEVER the answer.

Again: There is NO PLACE for political violence.

Beware the speeches that make you feel impassioned and righteous. No matter how deeply you agree with the content, when you become impassioned, you lose perspective of the issues and of yourself. No matter how many tiktoks of wounded Gazan babies you see, violence is not the answer.

The rise of fury and religion in the party foreshadows a tragic future. Biden warned against it but did we listen?

Thankfully, Harris throws cold water on the “lock him up” chants and I hope to see more caution in the future. This gives me confidence in her intelligence.

Obama is one of the few articulate democrats who understands the dangers of passion. Hoping his speech comes out and makes democrats self-reflect tonight on who they are and who they want to be. We cannot be a party that turns to religion and passion when we feel righteous. We must always be intelligent and focused on solutions.

Looks like the protests were kind of a giant nothing burger. I guess they delayed some shuttles? Far cry from the “hundreds of thousands of rioters will descend on the DNC” doomerism, though I suppose there’s still time. But if they don’t show up for day 1 I’d be surprised if they showed up after.

  10. CNN complete dumpster fire coverage lol. Complaining about the length of an event they didn’t plan and decided to cover. Like who gives a shit.

  11. In response to Project 2025’s plan to resume underground nuclear testing, I propose we resume *above ground* nuclear testing. It would be the ultimate firework for the Semiquincentennial in 2026 and I think it could pull in some undecided voters.

Am I crazy or should they end this convention with Clinton, Obama and Biden on stage with Harris as a sort of “four presidents” photo spot to contrast the fact that no previous Republican presidents have been willing to have anything to do with Trump

  13. Apparently the planned parenthood thing did 10 abortions and that’s a huge deal per conservatives I know

    Gonna be the abortion election

Does anyone have a link to the Freedom Harris ad they showed ahead of Harris talking yesterday?

  15. I’m not a big poll guy, but I find it interesting that kamala is leading or tied in critical states. However, I think the scary part for conservatives is that millennials, and gen z don’t really participate in polls since we ignore spam majority of the time.

So our age group may be that “silent” majority regarding polling.

  16. JMHO- I would like it if they would not say Trump’s name… Only because Trump probably gets a hard-on at the mention of his name whether it’s said positively or negatively…

Just talk about Democrats being champions of the people…how Harris and Walz will work to help the middle class….
