This has driven me nuts about Republican family members my entire life. 1988 election: early on, polls showing Bush losing are fake, then by October, they show Bush winning a landslide, so they’re real. 1992 and 1996 elections: Polls showing Clinton winning are fake, even though he won exactly as polls predicted both times. 2000 and 2004: Polls showed Bush winning (more closely in 2000 obviously), and those were real. 2008: they really didn’t question the polls at all that time, they knew Republicans were screwed. Polls for the 2012, 2016, and 2020 elections: all fake. Polls for this election showing Trump winning for over a year: real, recent polls showing Harris winning, fake.
They have one time in 2016 when the polls were “wrong,” but even then, Hillary won the popular vote by at least the same margin that the polls predicted. It’s just…so freaking stupid.
