I made this map in ArcGIS back in November 2023. Hope it is still in date. During my research I found that the pandemic killed off the last Irish pubs in some places, so there might be a few that have the opportunity to be reopened.

It’s good to know that there’s still in fact a couple in Kathmandu.

I don’t know if this a thing elsewhere, but when I was in Liverpool last year, I saw two different pubs which were advertised not as Irish pubs, but specially as Irish American pubs
Had never seen that before

Theres a lot to criticise about Iran but they really took a liking to Bobby Sands.
I think it was them that renamed the street that the British embassy opened on to “Bobby Sands Street” or something to that effect.
Uganda has one in Kampala it’s called bubbles O somethings great craic

Who needs to spend billions on CIA, FBI, (Aman, Mossad and Shin Bet) FIS RS, MSS, MI5. All you need to do is pose as an Irish bar, every town has one the cops, mayor office, fire service and military all pay to drink there and tell each other the secrets. A few rounds of whiskey and stout for Paddys day and Intel flows in.
If your wondering if your bar man is indeed Irish Intel ask for a load of drink and give them the money, they will work out your change owed ever before they go near the till. Old habits of multi-tasking.

There’s an Irish pub in Rio de Janeiro/Brazil, but no cider is served. Ugh.

Furthest one I’ve visited was an Irish bar in Taichung, Taiwan.
Strangely enough packed full of Americans!
Also they only had Guinness in cans so not sure if it really counts!

Just back from Mozambique and unfortunately no Irish pub there anymore, but their most popular beer is named after Patice Mac Mahon so there’s that!

Bobby sands burger is class. Do you just go, order a burger, then refuse to eat it?

Although Greenland doesn’t have an official Irish pub, there is one in Nuuk (with the questionable name of “Daddy’s”) that calls itself “Irish-inspired” at least.
Likewise, neither does Svalbard, but there was an Irish lad working behind the bar of the main hotel bar in Longyearbyen back in 2018. Honorary territory!
The Faroe Islands are too small to mark properly on the map, so you might have come across it already, but there’s one in Tórshavn on the Faroe Islands, just called “Irish Pub”. Two storeys at least, if I remember right, which might well make it the largest pub on the islands?

Irish Bar in Namche Bazar (spelling might be wrong) on the way to Everest base camp. Had a drink there while my wife was recovering. Nice spot.
Funny enough was showing the movie Everest that night.

I’ve never understood what makes them “irish” pubs. They seem themed to look like pretty much any Irish, English, Scottish or Welsh style pub.

They’ve got one in Honolulu, they’ve got one in Moscow too
They got four of them in Sydney and a couple in Kathmandu
