    This is potentially big and of real importance to a lot of middle class people (such as myself). Go Kamala go. But don’t assume anything people, get off your butt and vote no matter what. And check now to see if you’re registered cleanly, many attempts will be made at disenfranchisement this fall over petty issues to stop votes.

    The number of private and corporate investors buying dozens, hundreds, thousands of family homes is staggering. That needed to be illegal from the start. There always should have been the idea that everyone who wants a house should be able to own one, but you only get one. It’s not just a US problem either.

    Companies and investors should only be allowed to buy/resell homes when nobody in the country is homeless. Also, if someone owns multiple homes and any of them go unused for more than half the year, they should be taxed through the nose.

  18. Hedge funds and corporate conglomerates should be prohibited from purchasing mortgages and single and two family homes, full stop. They should be prohibited from doubling and tripling rents and engaging in Airbnb arbitrage.

    There seems to be quite a bit to unpack. The article does stipulate this really affects corporate rental firms and the propublica link within the article on Sen. Welch’s official site clarifies collusion between two or more ”coordinators” unlawful if such a merger results in lowering competition (basically anti monopoly).

    The wording does seem to exempt small land lords unless a whole mess of them all group up together in a single market, I guess.
