  1. Here’s a preview of the story:

Gov. Tim Walz on Wednesday agreed to participate in a vice presidential debate hosted by CBS News on Oct. 1 in New York City.

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign has not yet agreed to the date, leaving GOP Sen. JD Vance’s participation in question.

Earlier in the day, CBS News proposed four dates for a debate between the two vice presidential nominees: Sept. 17, Sept. 24, Oct. 1, and Oct. 8. The Harris-Walz campaign soon agreed to the Oct. 1 date.

“See you on October 1, JD,” Walz wrote on X.

A date for the vice presidential debate has been in limbo since the spring, when CBS News first extended the invitation to both presidential campaigns. In May, President Biden’s campaign said Vice President Kamala Harris, who was still his running mate at the time, was willing to face off against the eventual Republican vice presidential nominee on either July 23 or Aug. 13.

JD is going to be getting dome from a throw pillow under his podium.

    I hope he agrees!

Can’t wait for Walz to reveal JV Vance’s ex couch is in the front row, ready to spill all the juicy details of their spicy tryst.

  4. Is there going to be an audience? A few people in the room sitting on couches could seriously distract Vance and give Walz an advantage.

I love the date as this is after the sentencing of Trump on September 17th or 18th. The Feds is expected to cut rates in mid September. The news cycle can sit and stew in those actions for a week then they can do the build up to this debate and the fall out from it the next week. Then we will be 1/3 of the way through October. The only thing I am worried about is the manufactured October surprise (ie Clinton’s emails or Hunter’s laptop). The schedule seems to be set up for Harris to continue building steam.

JD vance is absolutely toast. The contrast between walz’s normal “beer dad” personality and vances “weird guy talking to you about racial statistics” personality are going to absolutely bury the trump campaign.

  7. I sometimes work at cbs. I’m gonna ask to talk the set designer to make sure there are couches on set

“Glad you got off the couch for this, Mr. Vance.”

“That’s an interesting way to couch your answer.”

“Mr. Vance, why are you sofa king weird?”

  9. I’m worried that Walz is going to make Vance cry. I don’t think I can handle the secondhand embarrassment of witnessing the absolute trouncing Vance is going to endure on a national stage. I hope he has a humiliation fetish, so that he at least has something positive to take away from the experience.

  10. I’m sure the American people will be glued to their couches for this one. I’m sofa king excited for this.

Time to bust out the popcorn! Walz will have so much ammunition to use against him at that point in time it’ll be a slaughterhouse with Trump throwing ketchup on the walls!

  12. This is going to be the biggest embarrassment since Admiral James Stockdale dropped Perot clear out of the conversation.

  13. I’ll be watching it but I do worry a little because Walz told Harris during his vetting that he’s not good at debating. Hopefully he was just underselling himself.
