i had a meal in turkey TWICE in the last year now and i tend to just show the picture and ask to have it again as it’s a turkish dish that i don’t know the name of, can anyone identify it? it has lamb tomatoes and a lot of mint (mine has beef today)

thank you

  1. First time seeing something like this. Where did you eat it? Mayve we can figure it out by the region

  2. It looks kind of like “kuzu etli güveç” (lamb meat clay pot stew), but served on a plate instead of in the clay pot (güveç). As far as I know, it’s not typically served with mint though, could be a regional thing or just the chef’s choice…

  3. Looks like çoban kavurma. If it’s made from meat, onion, pepper and tomato I’m sure it is.

  4. UPDATE: i’m gonna run back and just ask them to write it down for me. i didn’t expect to have so many people stumped 😭😭

How did you order without knowing the name? Was it complimentary? I am confused haha

  6. OKAY so i went back and got him to type it into my phone, Alti Ezmeli

whether or not they made it as it’s meant to be made / if it’s accurate this is what they told me i’ve been eating at the restaurant. pls LMK tho i’m curious to see whether this is what it’s meant to be haha

  7. It looks like ‘ezme kebabi’ but can’t really see ‘köftes’ on top of the salad.

Come to Gaziantep my friend, this is altı ezmeli kıyma kebabı.

There are different variations of altı ezmeli, this one looks like it’s kıyma (minced lamb, probably) but you’ll see kuşbaşı and some other variations as well.

  9. have no idea, someone made up this food and trying to market it to tourism as a kind of kebab maybe

  10. As someone from Gaziantep, I can confirm that is undoubtedly a “Altı Ezmeli” kebap
