Good stuff. My favourite podcast by far. (Except the Rugby bits)

Fair play to them, its testiment to the quality of their output.

It shows that broadcasting is very definitely moving online. It’s very much the end of radio in particular and I don’t think TV as we know it has very many years left either.
There was confusion as to why 2FM presenters were leaving in favour of doing podcasts, as it seems to most people like a new thing done by hobbyists, but it’s just online broadcasting really and if you’re good at it, it’s going to bring in advertising in a big way.
It also cuts out a ton of overheads, middlemen and in the case of RTE a 1960s bureaucracy, a load of politics and a very toxic mess by the sounds of it.
But I think you’ll increasingly see old fm stations desperately trying to be podcasting platforms and not really hitting the mark.
