  1. I think we could do it, not a single city though it would have to be a region or the entire country hosting it.

Thought this was going to be a Waterford Whispers article about how long it takes to get things done rather than an actual suggestion.

  3. This is just silly season nonsense to get his name in the media.

Plenty of real problems he could be working on.

  4. I don’t know, thinking we’ll have all the infrastructure issues in the country solved by 2072 seems way too optimistic.

Just accept we are in no position to host this event. If anything, it would be embarrassing for the country.

It’s a more realistic proposition than having a functioning health service/public transport system by then, to be fair,

  7. He couldn’t sit on a school board without making a hames of it, hardly the person to be calling for responsibility for a major global event.

  8. Eh I’m thinking we could bid to host it in 12 -16 years with mostly existing facilities

    1) Croke Park for track and Field
    2) Aviva – Soccer
    3) Thomond Rugby 7s
    4) Druids Glen, Adare, KClub Golf
    5) 3Arena – Boxing
    6) National Aquatic Centre – Watersports
7)Rowing – Somewhere along The Shannon
    8) Surfing – Mullaghmore ? Like some of the biggest waves on the planet.
Cycling – From Galway to Cork ?
    9) Equestrian – RDS

Still have the Convention Centre, National Stadium, Basketball arena, RDS Simmons Court, Fantastic Facilities in some of the universities.

Would require massive investment but you could follow up after the Olympics with a Tailteann games, open to those with Irish Heritage to keep the facilities in use.

It would take massive investment but would be really special.

Make it a cross border event then you could bring in Casement, The SEE Arena, Kings Hall.

    Massive Investment would be required
