Thai police arrest two Japanese over alleged killing of compatriot near Bangkok Police in Thailand have arrested two Japanese nationals in connection with the dismembered body of a compatriot that was found in a suburb of the Thai capital, Bangkok.

The police arrested 50-year-old Kato Takuya and 28-year-old Suzuki Hiroto after the suspects were transferred on Friday from neighboring Laos, where they had been detained.

In April, body parts packed in garbage bags were found near Bangkok, as well as a skull with a hole believed to have been caused by a gunshot.

Thai police identified the body as that of 47-year-old Kabashima Ryosuke. They obtained arrest warrants for the two Japanese men on suspicion of murder and other charges.

The suspects had fled to Laos before being taken into police custody in the Laotian capital, Vientiane, in June.

After being arrested in Thailand, they entered a police station for interrogation without answering questions from reporters.

Thai police say the three Japanese were members of a fraud group. The police suspect there was trouble between the three men.
