    Just fucking build some infrastructure, it could be a fucking cable car or anything just fucking build some infrastructure, we are supposedly such a rich country just use some of that over inflated gdp to build something

    Going a little off topic here, I knew the metro plans were unambitious, but I didn’t know it was only 16 stations. I guess that does actually make sense when you consider it’s only half a line. If it was a full line tha also went south of the city centre, there would be a lot more stops.

    It’s a multi-billion euro vanity project for the Greens. High-frequency light rail lines connecting Swords and the airport to the existing rail line to the east would be significantly cheaper, much less complex, cause far less disruption, and would be completed far sooner than this idiotic scheme.  

    Build a raised Luas line up the N1 to Santry and call it a day.

    Taipei started building it’s metro system in 1986. They now have 5 lines and 117 stations, with more to be added. 

    At around the same time we stsrted on DART, but the joke there is that it doesn’t serve most of Dublin, and isn’t especially rapid.
