Of note, because China is terrible as usual, these were deployed directly into an 800km orbit, so these debris will last centuries. If they continue creating this many pieces of debris every launch it’ll be disastrous.
The debris seems to have come from the upper stage that deployed the satellites just exploding for unknown reasons.
Of course, China has not said anything has happened.

China has everyone in their back pocket so no one will actually criticize them or hold them accountable. Sad state of affairs in geopolitics but that’s how it is.

There should be international treaties on this. It’s one thing with SpaceX launching into an orbit that pretty much cleans up itself in months, this is just absolute trashy behaviour. And if they do carry this on with hundreds of launches it’s going to be a huge cost to other operators.

It’s worth pointing out that if someone on the earth’s surface randomly shot 50 bullets knowing that they would fly around for centuries unless they struck something man made, people would demand an immediate stop to this.

Before we call China trash, tell me who created ALL the trash that’s been circulating around our beautiful planet for years?
