So out of 1.6 million tourists, 2 died?

It’s sad especially for the child but it can’t be made much safer.

I was there only last year and it is perfectly safe if you follow the rules

  2. Walked the Liscannor to O’Briens Tower walk there this weekend, what isn’t mentioned although it is perhaps hinted at in the article is that there are a number of sections where it is very awkward to walk past someone coming against you going the other direction, and impossible if someone has stopped to take a photo.

The official paths are nowhere near wide enough all the way along, and are bordered by fields with barbed wire fencing on one side, I was just waiting to get snagged as I brushed up against it, there are sections where I went off the official paths as it was just too busy and awkward. There needs to be a CPO for a small section of the adjoining fields put in place to put proper pathways in along the whole length, it’s absurd that hasn’t happened given the numbers of people using it…

  3. Amazing that this has to be done because certain tourists don’t have the self preservation to not walk off the edge of a 700 foot sheer cliff.

As a longtime hiker along this trail, part of the problem has been erosion. The cliff edge has fallen away and is getting closer to the path.

    That, and people are thick.
