Hayashi: Japan, US will do everything to ensure safety of Osprey aircraft Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa says Japan and the United States will do their utmost to ensure the safety of Osprey transport aircraft.

Hayashi made the comment on Friday after the US Air Force released a report on its investigation into the crash of a CV-22 Osprey in southwestern Japan’s Kagoshima Prefecture last November.

The top government spokesperson said Japan and the US shared technological information at an unprecedented level following the accident. He also said Japan agrees with the US’ determination of what caused the accident.

Hayashi said similar incidents can be prevented by implementing safety measures that deal with the cause of the crash.
He stressed the two countries’ officials at every level have confirmed that safety is the top priority.
