What will it take for the government to gut the cunts? No lessons seem to have been learned if they’re spending €132 of taxpayer money on *fucking biscuits*.

  2. This is their main clients and this is just standard media marketing.

I really don’t understand the outrage

  3. Macaroons are not biscuits. They are fuc king delicious. I order them for work and can get 46macaroons for 36e. These guys are fucking mental paying 132e for macaroons.

  4. It’s the problem with the mix of funding. Why should RTE have adverts while we have to pay for them. A private sector company sending gifts is fine but a publicly funded company doing it is not on. RTE is a joke that is played on us all.

  5. A disgracefull waste of tax payers money but to be expected from that shower of wasters …

  6. Learned absolutely nothing, laughing at what dumb fucks the taxpayers are. Name them, shame them, run them out of every pub in the country is what needs to happen.

Did these go to clients or to family members? It’s RTE, so it’s really hard to know how far they will push the pisstake.

It’s like they don’t even care what the public opinion of RTÉ is at this stage. They know they’ll get a bailout from the government (your taxes) no matter what.

The independent clearly has an agenda here, and perhaps reddit users should gain some critical thinking skills.

Literally just had to google if ‘Macarons’ could possibly be any else except small cakes.

RTE is rotten to the core and is just laughing at the public now.

The Tubridy scandal came from chasing commercial revenue. The ludicrously high salaries for Darcy, Joe Duffy, etc are to chase commercial revenue. Having to watch ads is because they need to chase commercial revenue. Paying millions of euros every single year to the BBC to show repeats of Eastenders is to chase commercial revenue. Paying for dozens of boxes of macarons is to chase commercial revenue.

It is beyond obvious that the problem with RTE is the dual revenue model. Remove ads, scale back programming accordingly.

  12. ah lads, if the advertising agencys dont get their €132 macaroons then they might not spend on advertising on the largest tv channel with the biggest reach in the country. Im sure the clients of the ad agencies will understand, no macaroons = no advertising.

Privatise it and distance the tax payer from this misery. No business could survive being run so wrecklessly. The bottomless pit had a bottom and now there’s a bailout

  14. Public sector for the part have no concept of real world dealings, massive sense entitlement .

I’ve just finished a job application for a PS job, honestly it took me around 8 hours, and I have very little hope as an outsider.

One of the novels they wanted was to give examples from my career of where I demonstrated “commitment to public service values”! What? Corruption, laziness, inefficiency ?

I think I gave a good answer but I know I’m wasting my time.

I have a cousin in PS who’s the biggest waster of all time, the only way they can remove him is to promote him. Three times he’s been promoted then demoted back.

    Keep paying your taxes folks!
